In a tragic accident, a 19-year-old youth was killed at the Bhatoli Kalan village in Barotiwala, when a recklessly driven tractor coming from the opposite direction collided with a motorcycle near Pidilite company on Saturday.
The tractor driver fled the scene, leaving behind his vehicle, while local residents rushed the seriously injured youth to the hospital, where medics declared him dead.
Additional SP Baddi Ashok Verma informed that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS and Motor Vehicles Act against the tractor driver on the complaint of Ravindra Kumar, a resident of Bhatoli Kalan, at Barotiwala police station.
The complainant stated that he was heading towards Sikka Hotel in his car on Saturday morning when a motorcyclist, moving ahead of him near the main entrance of the Pidilite company, was hit by a tractor coming from the front, allegedly being driven recklessly in the wrong direction.
After the accident, locals rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination.
The tractor involved in the accident has been seized and the police are trying to identify the accused driver.
