The Gurugram police on Saturday arrested two warehouse employees for allegedly stealing high-value mobile phones from a warehouse.

Four stolen Apple iPhones and one Android mobile phone were recovered from their possession.

According to the police, the hub in-charge of Instakart Services in Sector 67A, Gurugram, lodged a complaint at the Sector 65 police station on July 24, alleging that five high-value mobile phones had gone missing from the company’s hub over the previous 10 to 15 days.

During verification, the value of the stolen mobile phones was assessed at Rs 3,45,693. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case.

Acting on the complaint, the Crime Branch (Sector 65) arrested the two accused from Sector 67 on Saturday. They were identified as Nikhil Kashyap, a resident of Partapur village in Bihar’s Nalanda district, currently living in Maruti Kunj, Gurugram; and Anish Mandal, a resident of Balour village in Bihar’s Darbhanga district, currently residing in Dhumaspur village, Gurugram.

“During interrogation, it emerged that both accused were employed at the logistics hub and allegedly misused their positions to steal high-value mobile phones from the warehouse over a period of 10 to 15 days. We are questioning the accused,” a senior police officer said.
