Railway Protection Force personnel seized 20.500 kg of dry ganja smuggled from Andhra Pradesh by one of the passengers K. Tarkeswar Bariki of Chandigarh-Madurai Express at Madurai railway junction on Wednesday.

    As soon as the train stopped at the junction, the RPF personnel started checking the general second class coach. The team found one of the passengers moving in a suspicious manner.

    The RPF personnel checked a trolley and a shoulder bag in his possession. The team found 10 bundles of dry ganja concealed inside them.

    The ganja weighed 20.500 kg. The accused was handed over to the Tamil Nadu Railway Police for further proceedings.
