An unidentified American hip-hop rapper has released an X-rated diss track against Lionel Messi and Argentina amid alleged referee bias at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

La Albiceleste are chasing back-to-back World Cup finals and will take on England in the semifinal on Thursday, July 15. However, their run in the tournament, especially the knockout phase, has been heavily marred by controversies surrounding referee bias, contentious VAR decisions, and favouritism from FIFA.

Amid the controversies and allegations, an American rapper released a diss track titled 'Whistle Mafia' protesting alleged FIFA and referee bias toward Argentina and Messi. The song, which was shared by Legendary Sports Report on X, uses explicit lyrics to describe and criticise uncalled fouls in favour of Lionel Messi and Argentina.

One part of the lyrics seemed to support claims that Argentina's World Cup campaign is being scripted.

The clip highlighted specific incidents like Messi's stomp on an Algerian player in the group stage, VAR interventions during their 3-2 Round of 16 win over Egypt, and uncalled fouls against Cabo Verde in the Round of 32.

A handball incident involving Messi against the Netherlands during the 2022 FIFA World Cup was also featured in the diss track.

Pundit Simon Jordan has slammed fans for saying that the 2026 FIFA World Cup is being rigged in favour of Lionel Messi and Argentina. He described the claims as uninformed, uneducated and unsubstantiated and said:

La Albiceleste are looking to become the first team in 64 years to win consecutive FIFA World Cups. Messi has been the side's most outstanding player so far, scoring eight goals and providing two assists in six matches.
