On paper, the family is united heading into SummerSlam 2026. The Bloodline will battle LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, and Royce Keys in a high-profile six-man tag team match at The Biggest Party of the Summer. Meanwhile, Roman Reigns will put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Seth Rollins in the main event of one of the nights.
However, WWE has repeatedly shown that unity within The Bloodline rarely lasts for long. The group's history has been built on shifting loyalties, betrayals, and power struggles. Also, Jacob Fatu has never been portrayed as someone who blindly follows orders.
Even after rejoining Roman's faction, arguably, the Samoan Werewolf continues to carry himself like a man who believes he should be leading rather than following. Thus, with SummerSlam providing WWE's biggest stage of the summer, the company could easily use the event to begin another major chapter in The Bloodline saga.
That said, in this article, we look at three clear signs Jacob Fatu could betray Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2026.
Perhaps the biggest clue lies in how Jacob Fatu entered this chapter of The Bloodline.
Unlike Jimmy and Jey Uso, who willingly reunited with Roman after WrestleMania 42, Fatu had to be forced into accepting Reigns' leadership. He challenged Roman for the World Heavyweight Championship shortly after WrestleMania, insisting that he deserved everything Roman possessed. Their rivalry culminated in Tribal Combat at Clash in Italy, where Reigns defeated his cousin and restored The Bloodline under his leadership.
That outcome may have reunited the family. However, it may not have necessarily erased Jacob's ambitions. So far in his WWE run, Fatu has consistently been driven by pride. He has never been content with being someone else's enforcer for long. Whether under Solo Sikoa's version of The Bloodline or during his own singles rise, Jacob has always been portrayed as a competitor who wants to stand at the very top.
SummerSlam presents the perfect opportunity for that frustration to resurface. In a shocking twist, Jacob Fatu could appear during the closing moments of Roman Reigns' world title defense at SummerSlam. Instead of helping the OTC retain, Fatu could superkick Reigns. Thus, allowing Seth Rollins to capitalize and score the victory.
This would instantly remind everyone that the Samoan Werewolf never truly accepted playing second fiddle. Rather than this being a random heel turn, it would be the culmination of months of suppressed resentment dating back to his failed attempts to dethrone Roman.
Another important sign is that Roman Reigns' priorities have changed.
Instead of focusing entirely on keeping The Bloodline together, Reigns is heading into one of the most important matches of his career against Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship. The rivalry has dominated RAW in recent weeks, with Rollins continuing to get inside Roman's head.

Unlike Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, or even Roman Reigns, Fatu has never been predictable. WWE has carefully protected his image as an explosive competitor who follows instinct rather than strategy. Whether inside the ring or during backstage confrontations, he has repeatedly shown that emotion often overrides loyalty.
Even after rejoining Roman Reigns' side, the Samoan Werewolf has remained The Bloodline's most dangerous member because nobody, arguably, including Roman, can truly control him.
Recent episodes of RAW have reinforced that image. Jacob has continued to dominate opponents physically, often looking like the faction's most intimidating force while Roman's leadership keeps the group together.
Ironically, that dynamic could become the reason for the betrayal. Thus, if Jacob Fatu starts believing that he is carrying The Bloodline while Roman receives all the credit, jealousy could naturally begin to grow. WWE has already established that Fatu wants recognition. Also, his explosive personality makes him the most believable superstar to act without warning.
Thus, a betrayal at SummerSlam would instantly become one of the show's defining moments. Also, it would set up a blockbuster programme between Roman Reigns and Jacob for the months ahead.
More importantly, it would fit everything WWE has established about Fatu's character. He isn't someone who wants to stand behind greatness forever. He wants to become greatness himself.
