Three persons were injured after a cement-laden multi-axle truck rammed into three parked trucks near the Parwanoo apple mandi on Wednesday afternoon.

The truck, which was on its way to a godown to unload its cargo, reportedly went out of control and crashed into the parked vehicles. Two drivers who were sitting inside the parked trucks sustained injuries, while the driver of the multi-axle truck was seriously injured.

The impact of the collision was so severe that the first truck was reduced to a mangled wreck, with its body ripped apart. The other two trucks also suffered extensive damage. Bystanders rushed to the spot and rescued the trapped driver.

All three injured persons were admitted to the ESIC Hospital in Parwanoo for treatment.

A police team reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and initiated an investigation into its cause.

“An FIR has been registered against the driver of the multi-axle truck bearing a Haryana registration number for rash and negligent driving. The exact cause of the accident will be ascertained after a mechanical inspection of the vehicle,” said Anil Sharma, DSP, Parwanoo.
