Team India's recent T20I endeavors, in captain Shreyas Iyer's words, have been a massive 'reality check' after a concerning set of results, each worse than the other, to begin the transition. The Men in Blue lost 0-2 to Ireland and 0-4 to England, and now they head to Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I series to restore some parity and the winning feeling.
Simply put, Team India's dismal performances in Ireland and England were just a sum of all the underwhelming individual performances put together. Uncertainty in the top order, failing to adapt to English conditions after a subcontinent-heavy first half of the year, and poor form overall have contributed to the unprecedented seven-match winless run.

If the runs don't come in this tour, Team India always have the option od restoring Tilak Varma to No.3, where he functioned at his best, and bolster the middle-order with players like Rajat Patidar or other potential prospects. As a result, Ishan Kishan will have to be careful and make use of the upcoming T20Is to make a statement to the team management and his doubters.

Team India wrist-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has a brief window of opportunity to assert himself as the first-choice spinner, but the catch here is that he is coming on the back of one of the worst displays of his career.
