After turning in a respectable season with the Washington Commanders last season, Deebo Samuel is still searching for his next team after hitting free agency.
Samuel caught 72 passes for 727 yards and five touchdowns in 2025. He remained an effective offensive weapon despite the Commanders cycling through quarterbacks because of injuries. Although he is no longer in the prime years that made him a star with the San Francisco 49ers, the 30-year-old can still make a meaningful impact in the right offensive system.
Based primarily on team needs and roster construction, these are the three destinations that make the most sense for Samuel entering the 2026 season.

#3 – Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders have done plenty to improve the talent around their quarterback room, whether Kirk Cousins or Fernando Mendoza eventually wins the starting role.
The one area that still needs improvement is wide receiver. Deebo Samuel may no longer be at his Pro Bowl level, but he proved at Washington Commanders that he is still a reliable offensive weapon capable of making an impact.
The connection with head coach Klint Kubiak also makes sense. The two spent time together with the San Francisco 49ers in 2023, which means Kubiak has firsthand knowledge of how to maximize Samuel's skill set.
Even in what many considered a down year, Samuel's 727 receiving yards were more than every Raiders receiver in 2025.
#2 – Baltimore Ravens
Outside of Zay Flowers, the Ravens’ wide receiver room remains largely inconsistent. This makes the addition of an experienced veteran a logical move before the season begins.
Deebo Samuel could fit that need perfectly. His experience could help stabilize the position group while also easing the burden on Flowers, Rashod Bateman and the Ravens' younger receivers.
What make Samuel different from most veteran free agents is his versatility. In his career, he has been a legitimate weapon as both a receiver and a runner, recording 219 rushing attempts for 1,218 yards and 21 touchdowns at an impressive 5.6 yards per carry. That ability would give Baltimore yet another creative option in its already dynamic offense.
#1 – Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs enter the 2026 season looking to rebound from a disappointing 2025 campaign, but there are still questions about the quality of the receiving corps around Patrick Mahomes.
Wide receiver remains one of Kansas City's biggest roster needs, making Deebo Samuel a smart free-agent target. Despite no longer being in his prime, Samuel showed with Washington last season that he can still be a productive offensive weapon, leading the Commanders in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches.
In Andy Reid's pass-heavy offense, Samuel could thrive alongside Mahomes. He could also provide the veteran presence the Chiefs might need. A move to Kansas City would also give Samuel an opportunity to pursue the Super Bowl championship that eluded him during his time with the San Francisco 49ers.
