Just two days ago, Mojang added cushions to Minecraft snapshot, beta, and preview versions. This feature is set to release in the 26.3 fall game drop, along with Dappled Forest, Abandoned Camps, and more. This furniture block can be made from three wool slabs and is used to sit on, a feature that players have been craving for years.

However, as soon as the new furniture block was introduced, the Minecraft community quickly found bizarre ways of using it.

Note: This feature is still under development. Some of these use cases might change or be entirely removed in the future.

Players have found a bizarre way to use cushions for traveling from one place to another in a straight line in Minecraft.

Basically, you need to place these blocks at a distance. Once two blocks are placed, you need to sit on one of them and interact with the other one, a few blocks away. It is important to note that the second block should not be more than four blocks away, beyond which you cannot interact with it. Once you interact, you will instantly shift and sit on that second block.

Like so, you can create a chain of these new blocks placed slightly away from each other. Simply sit on one of them, aim towards the next block, and keep spamming the interact button to quickly move from one block to another without any delay.

In this Minecraft contraption, you basically need to phase the new block inside a redstone lamp so that when it illuminates, it will light up the new block's top half.

You need to first place a cauldron, crouch, and try to place the cushion so that it sits flush with the top half of the cauldron. Then, you need to break the cauldron and immediately place a redstone lamp in its place. If done quickly enough, you will see the new block's texture phasing through the lamp.

You then need to cover the rest of the lamp with a block so that only the top part is visible. Finally, attach a lever and light up the lamp. You will only see the new block's colorful texture glow up.

For years, the Minecraft community has created make-believe couches using various types of stairs and trapdoors. With the fall game drop, however, we can literally make realistic couches on which we can sit.

You will need two wool stairs, two shelves, two snow sheets, and two cushions. As the picture clearly shows, you need to first place two sheets of snow and then place the new block on top of it. After that, you need to be quick to remove the sheets of snow and replace them with the wool stairs before the cushion breaks.

Once this is done, you will get a simple wool stair couch on which you can actually sit. When you interact with the couch in certain areas, it will detect the cushion hiding inside it and let you sit.

While you can sleep on a bed to skip the night in Minecraft, there is no way to sit on the bed until now. If you simply place the new block underneath the top half of the bed, you will be able to sit on the new block, and it will look like you are sitting upright on the bed.

What's more interesting is that you can directly go to sleep while sitting by simply interacting with the bed's bottom half in front of you. This animation makes it a lot more realistic and a new option to interact with our good old beds.

Finally, there is a way to create a high stool to sit on using pistons and the new block in Minecraft.

First, you need to place a piston underground, with a redstone block powering it. The piston's head will protrude out of the ground as shown in the picture. Then, you need to place a cushion to hide the rest of the piston, and then place another one on top of the piston's head. This will complete the setup of a high stool. You can then make a table beside it to complete the furniture set.
