A 68-year-old pedestrian died after he was hit by a KSRTC bus near Yenekallu bus stand in Yenekallu village of Kadaba taluk in Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday, July 11.

The police said the KSRTC bus going from Kukke Subrahmanya to Panja hit Mutlajja Channappa Gowda, 68, of Yenekallu village, while the latter was crossing the road around 11.30 a.m. Gowda was taken to Subrahmanya Primary Health Centre and was taken to the Kadaba Government Hospital, where Gowda succumbed around 1 p.m.

The police registered a case against KSRTC bus driver Vignesh for offences under Sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the police said.
