As Akhil Akkineni’s latest film Lenin saw a strong response at the box office, and a recent exchange between the actor and Megastar Chiranjeevi on social media has become a talking point among Telugu cinema fans. Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, Lenin has delivered a successful opening weekend and received positive feedback from audiences. Lenin has already collected over Rs 60 crore at the box office in just 3 days, making it one of the biggest hits of Akhil Akkineni's career.

As the film continued its successful run, megastar Chiranjeevi took to X to congratulate the team. In his post, the veteran actor said he had been hearing positive reports about Lenin and expressed happiness over the appreciation being received by the film, particularly for Akhil’s performance. "Akhil is very dear to me, like another son and it’s a joy to see him grow with every film," the megastar said, while also congratulating his friend and Akhil's dad Nagarjuna Akkineni.



Akhil’s response quickly grabbed attention online. Thanking Chiranjeevi for his support and kind words, he addressed the Megastar as “Pedha Nanna,” a Telugu term used for an elder father figure or respected uncle. The affectionate reference sparked reactions from fans of both the Akkineni and Chiranjeevi families, the doyens of Telegu cinema.

The film marks an important release for Akhil, who was looking for a comeback after the disappointing performance of his previous project. Many viewers and critics have praised his work in the film, with some calling it one of the strongest performances of his career so far.

Akhil Akkineni’s Lenin has emerged as a strong performer at the box office, giving the actor one of the most successful releases of his career. Drawing inspiration from themes found in the Mahabharata, the film follows his efforts to break a cycle of revenge that has gripped the community for years. The project features music by S. Thaman, cinematography by Naveen Kumar, and editing by Navin Nooli.

The film’s promotional campaign began with the release of its teaser on May 23, a date that marked a milestone in Nagarjuna’s career as it commemorated 40 years since his debut as a lead actor in Vikram. Though initially planned for release earlier in the year, the film eventually arrived in theatres on Thursday after multiple postponements.

Since its release, Lenin has received support from several prominent names in the film industry. Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu extended her wishes to his ex-brother-in-law Akhil and the team through social media, expressing confidence in the film’s success. Akhil responded by thanking her for her encouragement and support.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma also praised the film and Akhil’s performance. In a post on X, Varma described Lenin as a “great” film and called Akhil the “best actor” in the Akkineni family.
