Adam Pearce was stunned at an incident that took place during Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME) XLV at Madison Square Garden involving SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis.
To everyone’s shock, Aldis came out during the tag team bout between Sami Zayn and Gunther against WWE Champion CM Punk and Cody Rhodes to attack Gunther on the head by picking the WWE Championship belt off the floor immediately costing the Ring General’s team a victory and a chance to be part of the WWE Title match at SummerSlam which would have been turned from a one on one between Punk and Rhodes to a fatal four way according to Aldis’ stipulation.
Adam Pearce, who has been acting as General Manager on SmackDown in Nick Adlis’ absence ever since the latter began feuding with Gunther, took to X to post his reaction to the incident.
Adlis, who was at the mercy of Gunther’s sleeper hold a week ago on SmackDown, was not at the show this past Friday. But at SNME, he made sure to give the Ring General a receipt.
The rivalry between Nick Aldis and Gunther has now officially reached a breaking point after the latest incident in Madison Square Garden. Ever since Gunther lost his second chance at the WWE Title at Night of Champions, the Ring General has blamed everyone for his losses and has primarily gone after Nick Aldis, citing his “jealousy” as the reason, and has also called him a “failed wrestler”.
Gunther is sure to bring his wrath upon Aldis, and the SmackDown General Manager, who formerly wrestled as Magnus in TNA, may have to strap on his wrestling boots once again to settle scores with the former World Heavyweight Champion in the ring at the Biggest Party of the Summer.
Although nothing has been made official yet, this type of match is sure to get fans excited as it’s uncommon for a General Manager to suddenly be involved in a storyline and wrestle in a match.
Fans will wait with bated breath to see if this match gets made official at SummerSlam in Minnesota
