Following MJF's disappointing loss at AEW Beach Break, which saw him lose the world title, it seems the promotion has been urged to make a big move regarding his immediate future. This is in relation to his booking ahead of All In.
Last Wednesday, Kenny Omega defeated Friedman in a high-stakes contest to win the world title for the first time since his long-running reign ended in 2021. He needed to win this one as a loss meant he could never challenge for the belt ever again. The Best Bout Machine will now be the one competing in AEW All In's main event, against Will Ospreay.
During the latest edition of Busted Open After Dark, Tommy Dreamer had great praise for MJF and Omega's match. He then claimed that with his recent performances, Big Hebrew deserved a major spot at All In. He believed that Friedman deserved a spot in the main event as well, and hoped the company would add him to the match.
It remains to be seen if there is a possibility this becomes a three-way contest instead of Omega vs. Ospreay III.
Last Wednesday's show saw several moments and matches that were highly talked about. Apart from Omega's world title win, another shocking title change took place with Kyle Fletcher dethroning Konosuke Takeshita to become the new AEW International Champion. The show also featured Willow Nightingale returning during the women's casino gauntlet match.
Beach Break drew 773,000 viewers and had a rating of 0.12 on the key demographic. This was a major increase from last week's numbers and is the second-highest viewership the company has hit for a show since July 2024.
The company has picked up great momentum with this successful show and will be looking to keep this going until AEW Redemption at the end of the month. This could also end up being another blockbuster show, and this will be the final stop before All In: Wembley.
