SBS TV's action revenge drama Agent Kim Reactivated returned with episodes 7 and 8 on July 17 and 18, 2026. Written by Nam Dae-jung and directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun, the series features So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, and Yoon Kyung-ho.
Based on the Naver Webtoon Manager Kim by Toy and Jeong Jong-taek, Agent Kim Reactivated follows former elite agent Kim Do-hyeon. After his daughter suddenly goes missing, he is forced out of retirement and back into a deadly underworld where long-buried secrets and powerful adversaries await.
Episode 7 of Agent Kim Reactivated opens with a flashback set shortly after Kim Do-hyeon requests to leave government service following his wife's death. Senior officials discuss what should be done with him.
Some argue that he should be killed, while others suggest sending him back to North Korea in exchange for valuable political deals. However, the agency's chief decides to grant Do-hyeon's request for discharge, believing his abilities could still be needed in the future.
The story then returns to the present, after rescuing Min-ji from Mole Cricket's men, Kim Do-hyeon, Seong Han-soo, and Park Jin-cheol drive toward a safe location. The father and daughter finally share an emotional reunion.
Seeing her father covered in bruises from the recent battles, Min-ji breaks down in tears and apologises. Do-hyeon comforts her and tells her she has nothing to be sorry for. The two find comfort in each other after everything they have endured.
Their reunion is interrupted when Ju Gang-chan's men ambush them. The entire vehicle, carrying Do-hyeon, Min-ji, Han-soo, and Jin-cheol, is loaded into a trailer, which is then filled with sleeping gas.
Believing everyone inside has lost consciousness, the attackers move in. However, Do-hyeon and his companions are only pretending to be unconscious. When Ju's men approach them, the team launch a surprise counterattack and defeats every one of Ju's men before escaping with Min-ji.
Instead of returning home, Do-hyeon heads directly to Ju Gang-chan's residence. After defeating the remaining guards, he confronts Ju Gang-chan, who tries to persuade him to work for him by offering a well-paid job, claiming the money would allow him to provide a better life for Min-ji.
Do-hyeon refuses the offer and makes it clear that his daughter's safety matters more than anything else. He brutally beats Ju Gang-chan and drags him outside, where the crime boss kneels before Do-hyeon and Min-ji, begging for forgiveness.
Just as Do-hyeon is about to kill him, Min-ji stops her father. Instead, she makes Ju Gang-chan promise to surrender to the police and hand over his daughter. Respecting Min-ji's wishes, Do-hyeon spares his life.
Do-hyeon, Han-soo, Jin-cheol, and Min-ji then return home. Do-hyeon prepares the birthday meal he has planned for Min-ji's birthday, and they finally celebrate together. Outside the house, Mole Cricket's men wait for him because Do-hyeon has promised to surrender once he brings his daughter home safely.
Knowing this could be their final goodbye, Do-hyeon and Min-ji share a heartbreaking farewell. Min-ji promises to take care of herself and wait for her father to return. Keeping his word, Do-hyeon leaves with the National Agency officers. At headquarters, government officials begin discussing what should be done with him.
The officials then test Do-hyeon by making him believe he has been captured and is being interrogated by North Korean agents. They want to see if he will reveal any confidential information. Instead, he overpowers the interrogator and escapes, proving to the officials once again his loyalty.
Following the test, the agency offers Do-hyeon a deal. A high-ranking North Korean defector is arriving in South Korea and requires protection. Do-hyeon is assigned to guard him. If the mission is successful, both he and Min-ji will receive new identities and be allowed to live freely as ordinary South Korean citizens.
Until then, the agency promises to protect Min-ji. Do-hyeon accepts the assignment but is shocked to discover that the defector is General Ri, the very man who ordered Agent 66's mission in South Korea years earlier.
General Ri has fled North Korea after being accused of taking dangerous actions and shooting three officials who had been sent to arrest him. While under Do-hyeon's protection, General Ri repeatedly brings up the past, but Do-hyeon remains focused on completing the mission alongside his fellow agents.
Meanwhile, Ju Gang-chan sends his daughter out of South Korea before using his connections with a government minister to uncover Do-hyeon's background. He learns that Do-hyeon is a former agent now responsible for protecting General Ri.
During a meeting between South Korean and North Korean officials, Ju Gang-chan secretly informs a North Korean representative about General Ri's location and reveals that Agent 66 is in charge of his security. After receiving the information, North Korean agents immediately move to capture General Ri.
However, Do-hyeon and his fellow agents learn about the operation in advance and escape with the defector before they arrive. During the pursuit, Do-hyeon notices that the North Korean agents are trying to capture General Ri alive instead of killing him, making him suspicious about their true intentions.
Do-hyeon takes General Ri to Park Jin-cheol's hideout, where Jin-cheol and Seong Han-soo are spending time together. They are shocked when Do-hyeon suddenly arrives with the North Korean general.
As the four discuss the situation, Mole Cricket suddenly bursts into the hideout, leading his team. He tells Do-hyeon that he has failed his mission and announces that they have come to capture General Ri and send him back to North Korea. Episode 8 of Agent Kim Reactivated ends on this tense cliffhanger.
Agent Kim Reactivated releases new episodes every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. KST. The finale is scheduled for July 24 and 25 with episodes 9 and 10. The series is also streaming on Netflix.
