New Delhi: Singer-composer Amaal Mallik has said deleting his explosive posts against Tanishk Bagchi should not be mistaken for a change of heart. Issuing a fresh statement on X, Amaal maintained that he still stands by the allegations he made earlier, calling the deletion a clean-up of his timeline rather than a retreat from his claims.
Attempting to clear the air over the missing posts, Amaal wrote that the decision came from “a place of clarity”, adding that he had already “done the needful”. He said removing the tweets was simply his way of “get[ting] rid of the garbage” from his profile and not an indication that he had withdrawn anything he had written.
Explaining why he chose to speak publicly after years of silence, Amaal wrote, “It has taken a lot of patience, of almost 10 years, to keep my anger held inside.” He added, “Today, after a decade, I had to stand up… because no one wants to stand up for the right thing,” while claiming he had finally decided to expose what he described as the “scums” of the music industry.
Even after removing the earlier posts, Amaal continued to take aim at Tanishk. Claiming he had exposed the “truth” about “a very bad man”, he said karma would eventually take its course.
Addressing Tanishk directly, he wrote, “Bete, mujhse toh aukaat mein hi rehna,” before calling it a “lifelong warning”. The Hindi remark translates to, “Know your place when dealing with me.”
In the deleted posts, Amaal had accused Tanishk of copying music and taking credit for the work of other composers. He had also alleged that he was threatened using the name of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. In addition, Amaal claimed Tanishk had emotionally abused a woman after allegedly promising to marry her.
Tanishk Bagchi has not publicly responded to the allegations.
