Close on the heels of two COVID-19 deaths in Andhra Pradesh, another person with the infection reportedly died, while three more positive cases—two in Mangalagiri and one in Visakhapatnam—have been identified.

According to the Health Department, a 66-year-old man, who had respiratory issues, pneumonia, diabetes and hypertension and kidney problems, tested positive for the coronavirus on July 3. He was admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Kadapa, then to Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SWIMS), Tirupati and a private hospital. He died on Wednesday (July 15). The death has been attributed to comorbidities, and not the COVID-19 infection alone.

Meanwhile, a politician, who had a travel history to Hyderabad in the first week of July, tested positive on July 12 after he complained of fever, bodyache, and breathlessness. At present, he is undergoing treatment at the King George Hospital (KGH), Visakhapatnam, and his condition is stable, according to information.

Two COVID-19 patients are reportedly undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Mangalagiri. More details about their symptoms and travel history are awaited.

It may be noted that two COVID-19 deaths were reported earlier—one in YSR Kadapa district and another in Annamayya district.
