Arsenal have reached an agreement for the signing of a new winger to replace Leandro Trossard this summer, as per reports. The Gunners have sanctioned the sale of the Belgium international to Turkish outfit Besiktas, and have found their replacement.

According to David Ornstein, Arsenal have reached an agreement with Club Brugge for the transfer of winger Christos Tzolis on a permanent basis. They will pay €40 million to sign the Greece international, with whom personal terms have already been concluded.

The Gunners have had 24-year-old Tzolis as their choice to be brought in to strengthen their left winger position, having decided to part ways with 31-year-old Trossard. They will receive a total fee of €20 million for the transfer of the experienced Belgian, and have now reinvested twice the amount to sign Tzolis.

Christos Tzolis will return to England, where he had an uneventful spell with Norwich between 2021 and 2023. He played 14 times as the Canaries were relegated from the Premier League in the 2021-22 season before playing 13 times in the Championship in the 2022-23 season, managing just one goal combined.

Mikel Arteta has opted to bring in Tzolis over his sensational performance in Belgium with Club Brugge since his move there in 2024. He has played 108 times for the club, scoring 43 goals and providing 43 assists, winning the Belgian Cup in his first season and the Belgian Pro League in his second.

Arsenal are still linked to a big-name addition in attack, and could still sign another winger to compete for a starting position in their squad. The Gunners are keen on adding quality across board to build on their success from the 2025-26 season.

Arsenal have been dealt a significant blow following an injury to William Saliba during the ongoing FIFA World Cup, as per L'Equipe. The 25-year-old France international was forced off in the semi-final game against Spain after just 29 minutes of action.

Reports have shown that the defender suffered an aggravation of his back injury which he has managed this summer. He will now require surgery and is expected to be out for four to five months, possibly until the new year.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will weigh his options with regards to a replacement for Saliba in the transfer market. He also has Cristhian Mosquera and Jurrien Timber, both of whom can comfortably slot into the position, in his squad.
