F1 fans online have shared their reactions to Kimi Antonelli securing pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix on Saturday, with many left with high praise for the 19-year-old. The championship leader put in a rapid 1:44.361 lap to secure his sixth pole of the season already.
Antonelli's pole lap was three tenths of a second quicker than Max Verstappen in second, and half a second quicker than his Mercedes teammate George Russell, who was down in P4 but will start from third following Lando Norris' grid drop.
This result not only made it six poles for Antonelli but also continued Mercedes' clean sweep of pole positions in the 2026 F1 season, with the German team now holding a perfect 10/10 record in qualifying.

Antonelli secured pole comfortably even after Red Bull used Isack Hadjar to give Max Verstappen a tow on his final lap in Q3, as the Frenchman anyway starts from the back of the grid on Sunday. This resulted in Verstappen finishing second, something which wouldn't have been possible otherwise, according to the Dutchman himself.
