Alexander Zverev went past injured Carlos Alcaraz to occupy the No. 2 spot in the latest ATP Rankings released on Monday after his runner-up finish at Wimbledon 2026.
Germany’s Zverev, who lost to defending champion and World No. 1 Jannik Sinner in the final of The Championships, moved up a spot as he followed up his Roland Garros triumph with another deep run at a Major.
Meanwhile, Alcaraz missed his second Slam in a row as he continues to recover from a wrist injury.

Australia’s Alex de Minaur, who reached the fourth round before losing to Italy’s Flavio Cobolli, gained one place to rise to a career-high ranking of World No. 5. Cobolli followed up his run to the French Open final with a quarterfinal finish at Wimbledon, also achieved a new career high of World No. 9.

Novak Djokovic moved up from eighth to seventh after losing to Sinner in the semifinals for the second year in a row. Daniil Medvedev jumped from ninth to eighth with his third-round finish while Ben Shelton slipped from fifth to sixth after a shocking first-round exit.
Taylor Fritz, who lost to Zverev in the quarterfinals, dropped from seventh to 10th. Last year, the American had made it to the semifinals of the grass Major.
Five players - Britain’s Arthur Fery and Jan Choinski, Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff, Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz and Russia’s Roman Safiullin - made significant gains in the last fortnight.
Fery, who received a main-draw wildcard, stunned everyone with his run to the semifinals before losing to Zverev. As a result, he made a massive jump of 78 spots from 114th to a new career-high ranking of No. 36.
Choinski, after losing in the second round in Wimbledon, went on to win a Challenger Tour event in Germany and moved up from 100th to a new career high of 75th.
Big-serving German Struff, who went down to Sinner in the quarterfinals, gained 33 spots to occupy No. 41.
Hurkacz, who lost to Struff in the fourth round of Wimbledon, jumped 28 spots to 68th. Russia’s Roman Safiullin, who had an incredible run from the qualifiers to the fourth round before being defeated by Djokovic, returned to the Top 100 at No. 96 after gaining 36 spots.
Elsewhere, in the Top 100, USA’s Learner Tien (15th) and Belgium’s Raphael Collignon (42nd) also rose to new career-high rankings.
