Many educational institutes in Telangana are closed on Friday (July 24, 2026) after a bandh call was given by left-affiliated student unions demanding resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, fair compensation to affected students and others.
As part of the bandh, members of SFI-AISF-NSUI-PDSU-AIFDS-AIPSE-AISB would hold a student rally from Narayanguda to Y junction in Hyderabad in the morning.
Responding to the call, many schools in the city were shut. Osmania University has postponed all examinations scheduled to be held on Friday.
People tagged the student organisations handles on X and posted names of the private schools which were open on Friday.
Besides the left-affiliated student organisations, Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) student wing BRSV organised a protest held against the crackdown on students and youth in Delhi, in the city. Youngsters holding placards were seen at the protest site
