Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly joined the race to sign Manchester City midfielder Rodri despite rumours linking Real Madrid with a potential move for the Spain international this summer.

According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, PSG have contacted Manchester City to explore the possibility of signing Rodri. Barcelona are also said to be interested in signing the 2026 FIFA World Cup winner, although Real Madrid remain in pole position after reaching an agreement with the player.

The report adds that even though the Parisians are not planning to sign a midfielder this summer, Rodri's contract situation has made him a unique opportunity in the market. The Spaniard has just one year remaining on his current contract with Manchester City, attracting the attention of Europe's heavyweights.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid seems to be the likeliest destination for the player. Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that the midfielder is keen on moving to the Spanish capital, with Florentino Perez's lack of conviction said to be the only stumbling block at the time. Shortly after that, Italian journalist Matteo Moretto reported that the Los Blancos chief has now given the green light for the club to pursue the transfer.

Rodri reminded the world of his incredible ability once again during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 30-year-old pulled the strings from the centre of the pitch as he guided Spain to claim the trophy for the second time in their history. He finished the tournament as the best player and picked up the Golden Boot for his glittering displays.

With his reputation further enhanced, it is normal that many clubs will be knocking on his door this summer. It remains to be seen who will win the race to snap him up between Barcelona, PSG and Real Madrid.
