The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) observed the martyrdom day of Bhai Taru Singh with religious devotion during a Gurmat Samagam held at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall in the Golden Temple complex. The commemorative programme began with the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, followed by Gurbani kirtan by the jatha of Hazoori Ragi Bhai Tejinderpal Singh of Sri Harmandar Sahib. Bhai Balwinder Singh offered the ardas, while Granthi Giani Rajdeep Singh read the hukamnama from Sri Harmandar Sahib.

    Addressing the congregation, Giani Rajdeep Singh highlighted the life and supreme sacrifice of Bhai Taru Singh, describing him as a symbol of courage, steadfast faith and unwavering commitment to Sikh principles. He said Bhai Taru Singh embraced martyrdom instead of submitting to oppression, leaving an enduring example for generations of Sikhs. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from the martyr's life, remain committed to the Sikh way of life, uphold the Sikh identity and receive Amrit to strengthen their spiritual bond with the Guru.

    Among those present were SGPC secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, deputy secretaries Manjit Singh Talwandi, Sukhbir Singh and Satnam Singh Riar, Sri Darbar Sahib manager Major Singh, superintendents Nishan Singh and Malkiat Singh Behirwal, besides a large gathering of devotees.
