The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday announced that it will hold a protest demonstration in Kashmir on July 20, the same day the National Conference (NC) is scheduled to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi seeking restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

    J&K BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, along with Leader of Opposition in the J&K Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma, chaired a meeting of senior party leaders at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to review the prevailing political situation and finalise the party’s strategy for the proposed protest against the NC government.

    The meeting was attended by J&K BJP general secretaries Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, treasurer Prabhat Singh Jamwal, media incharge Dr Pardeep Mahotra, social media incharge Dr Makson Tickoo, IT incharge Gaurav Balgotra, spokesperson Dr Hari Dutt Shishu, Sports Cell Convenor Kuldeep Gupta, Adv Rajinder Jamwal, Ravinder Singh and other senior leaders attended the meeting.

    Addressing the meeting, Sat Sharma announced that the BJP would organise a strong protest in Kashmir on July 20, aimed at “exposing the complete failure of the NC government to fulfil its constitutional responsibilities and electoral promises”.
