Blake Monroe has been making quite the splash on SmackDown since debuting, although she has been doing so in a bit of an unconventional fashion. She brutally assaulted a female star and then sent a message to her husband.

This week on SmackDown, we saw an interaction backstage between Candice LeRae and Gunther. It sounds like an odd combination, and in reality, it certainly is. However, there was a bit of context. Candice LeRae happens to be friends with Sami Zayn, who happens to be the only one fully in support of Johnny Gargano, who has been in a state of shock for months now. It's been so long that we've actually lost track of when that story even started. Regardless, Candice urged Gunther to pair well with Sami Zayn so they could pick up the victory. Gunther didn't seem too impressed. While the interaction was happening, newcomer Blake Monroe (fka Mariah May in AEW) sneaked up on her.

As Gunther left, Blake Monroe assaulted Candice LeRae from behind and slammed her into some of the obstacles. She then introduced herself as the new girl and said that she would be getting to know her. Monroe walked past Johnny Gargano and looked disgusted, telling him that he needed a haircut.

As of now, it's not known as to whether Monroe will be in the mix to qualify for the Interim WWE Women's Title ladder match at SummerSlam. Tiffany Stratton has qualified, as has Jade Cargill. The third spot will be taken by either Charlotte Flair or Nia Jax, with two more slots remaining. It will be interesting to see who gets that.

It would admittedly be quite an interesting story if Monroe did qualify and walk into SummerSlam 2026 as a World Title contender. She is a former World Champion herself.
