A four-time world tag team champion recently left a promotion, ending his iconic 34-year tenure. His last match for the company took place in May 2026.

The name being discussed is Rey Bucanero. He is one of the most recognizable luchadors of the modern era, having competed in WWE, TNA Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and NJPW. However, he is best known for his run with CMLL, where he worked from September 1992 to July 2026.

Rey Bucanero recently parted ways with CMLL after a 34-year run, which saw him win the brand's World Tag Team Championship four times. The veteran's final match for the promotion came in May. At Martes De Glamour, Bucanero joined forces with Los Infarles (Averno & Euforia) for a tag team bout against Diego Hill and The Skyscrapers (Bishop Dyer & Donovan Dijak).

Taking to Instagram, Bucanero uploaded a video highlighting the best moments of his lengthy CMLL tenure. The four-time CMLL World Tag Team Champion also sent a message in the caption of the post.

The Cubs Fan at Luchablog recently revealed that Bucanero was spotted on the match card for an independent wrestling show alongside Dr. Wagner Jr. and Pirata Morgan. It seems like the veteran will continue his in-ring career on the indies after leaving the promotion.

In recent weeks, rumors began circulating about The Lone Wolf's potential WWE return. Reports suggested that he was set to re-sign with the sports entertainment juggernaut. On the latest episode of SmackDown, Corbin shockingly returned to his old stomping ground during the match between Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams.

The former NXT Tag Team Champion brutally attacked Hayes and Williams upon his comeback. He also staked his claim to the United States Championship. Following the show, Corbin was officially added to the WWE SmackDown roster.
