An AEW fan blindsided WWE by compromising some content on their official social media page. The fan also shared his frustrations regarding TKO's handling of the company through this move.
El Grande Americano has become a massive star in AAA over the last several months. His iconic Mask vs. Mask encounter against Chad Gable at the Noche de Los Grandes event drew global appreciation and is being regarded as one of the best matches of the year. Ludwig Kaiser as Americano represented the Stamford-based company at the FIFA World Cup game being played between Mexico and England. Unfortunately, the Team Mexico lost the match and were eliminated from the tournament.
However, the most hilarious thing happened when WWE decided to reshare a clip of El Grande Americano at the World Cup which was posted by a fan. After the company's Official X handle reshared the clip posted by the fan, the fan account decided to troll the company and changed his display name. The new display name featured the title of AEW's upcoming annual All In pay-per-view with it's date as well. The second part of the username was a dig at TKO.
The Stamford-based company's Official X handle later deleted this post but it has already been circulated all over the internet. Fans found it hilarious how one X account blindsided the Entertainment Juggernaut's social media like this.
The rivalry between All Elite Wrestling and WWE has grown immensely over the last few years. On many occasions, the Stamford-based company has tried to affect AEW's viewership by counter-programming them and is planning to do so again.
AEW is set to host their biggest annual pay-per-view All In in the Wembley Stadium in London on August 30th. The main event of the show will feature Will Ospreay facing off against Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship. However, the Entertainment Juggernaut has decided to go up against Tony Khan's company once again by scheduling two shows for the same time as All In. The company will run their weekly AAA episode and NXT Heatwave back-to-back during the same time slot as All In on the same date.
It will be interesting to see if this move from the Stamford-based company will affect AEW's viewership for All In London 2026.
