Brendon Mccullum stepped down as the England’ Test coach on Sunday, bringing to an end a four year stint.
Mccullum, who will continue to be the head coach of the team in ODIs and T20Is took over as England’s Test coach in May 2022 following a 1-0 away series defeat against West Indies in March that year.
Under Mccullum’s and Ben Stokes leadership, the England cricket team underwent a dramatic transformation, adopting a fearless, more attacking brand of cricket that popularly came to be known as ‘Bazball’.
The Three Lions experienced many highs and also certain lows during the Kiwi’s tenure. In 49 matches, Mccullum won 27 times, lost 20 times, and drew twice.
For all his success, Mccullum still failed to achieve the two biggest honours for England as far as Test cricket is concerned: winning the Ashes and winning a Test series in India.
