WNBA star Caitlin Clark might have a future in comedy once her basketball career is over. On Tuesday, the league announced that Clark won another Player of the Week award, averaging 25.0 points and 7.7 assists through three games.
During the team's shootaround, Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White took the chance to congratulate Clark for winning her second Player of the Week award.
In the post's comments section, however, Clark had a hilarious, self-deprecating joke about her skin tone.
Clark isn't shy when it comes to flaunting her wit on social media. Whether it's a joke about herself, her teammates or others, she's always on her toes, ready to comment something funny.
During that stretch, Clark led the Fever to a 2-1 record, giving the team an overall record of 16-10.
The WNBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago will start on Thursday. The following day, stars are set to participate in the traditional challenges, featuring the WNBA Shooting Stars event and the 3-Point Contest.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Caitlin Clark was one of the players who received an invitation to participate in the shooting contest. Clark is recognized as one of the best outside shooters, and fans would love to see her join the competition.
However, the four-time All-Star has declined the invite. She has yet to take part in the 3-point shootout since joining the WNBA in 2024. Clark wasn't the only star who declined the offer.
ESPN's Alexa Philippou reported that New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu and Minnesota Lynx guard Kayla McBride also did not accept the invitation.
This year's participants for the contest feature Azzi Fudd (Dallas Wings), Marina Mabrey (Toronto Tempo), Rhyne Howard (Atlanta Dream), Natisha Hiedeman (Seattle Storm), Janelle Salaun (Golden State Valkyries) and Bridget Carleton (Portland Fire).
Caitlin Clark is shooting 33.3% of her shots from downtown this season. While other players have shot better than her this season, fans wanted to see her in the contest.
The WNBA did not succeed in convincing Clark this season, and remains hopeful that they will get the former Iowa star to join the contest in the future.
