Three teenagers are in hospital after a car slammed into a group of people in a town centre.

The shocking incident took place on Saturday evening as a fight broke out in Skerries, in the north of County Dublin in Ireland. Horrified passersby watched on as the crash unfolded on Harbour Road at around 9.30pm, Gardaí said.

Footage of the incident appears to show rival groups of teenagers fighting nearby just moments before the collision. Footage then shows a group of youngsters running towards a white BMW that had one of its back doors open on Harbour Road.

The vehicle is then seen reversing at speed for around 20 feet before breaking hard, DublinLive reports. The driver then speeds forward and slams into a group of teens that were standing at the side of the road.

At least one person is thrown into the air when he is struck by the car - which then speeds away. A Garda spokeswoman confirmed three teenagers - two girls and one boy - were injured in the incident and were taken to hospital.

The spokeswoman said: "Gardaí in Skerries responded to reports of a public order incident at Harbour Road, Skerries on Saturday night 18th July, 2026. At approximately 9.30pm a large number of youths gathered and a fight broke out. During the course of the incident a car drove at a number of people.

"Three teenagers (two females and one male) were taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries. Investigations are ongoing. No arrests at this time."
