Track renewal and maintenance work at the Karur railway yard will lead to changes in the operation of several trains on July 9.

    A release from the Salem Railway Division said Train No. 16811 Mayiladuthurai–Salem Express, scheduled to leave Mayiladuthurai Junction at 6.15 a.m., will be short-terminated at Virarakkiyam. The train will not run between Virarakkiyam and Salem Junction. Train No. 16812 Salem–Mayiladuthurai Express, scheduled to depart Salem Junction at 2.05 p.m., will commence from Karur Junction at 3.40 p.m. It will not run between Salem Junction and Karur Junction.

    Train No. 16844 Palakkad Town–Tiruchi Express, scheduled to leave Palakkad Town at 6.30 a.m., will be short-terminated at Karur Junction. After the completion of the maintenance work, it will be operated as an unreserved special train from Karur to Tiruchi Junction with the same stoppages as the regular service.

    Train No. 16322 Coimbatore–Nagercoil Express, scheduled to leave Coimbatore Junction at 8 a.m., will be diverted between Coimbatore and Dindigul via Podanur, Pollachi and Palani.

    Consequently, the train will not stop at Coimbatore North, Peelamedu, Singanallur, Irugur, Sulur Road, Somanur, Tiruppur, Uthukuli, Ingur, Erode, Pasur, Kodumudi, Pugalur, Karur, Palayam and Eriodu stations. However, it will have additional stoppages at Podanur and Pollachi railway stations, the release added.
