Ahead of a meeting of disgruntled Punjab Congress leaders with AICC general secretary in charge of Punjab affairs Bhupesh Baghel at Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjit Singh's residence at Sector 4 in Chandigarh, former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi struck a cryptic note.

Before entering the meeting venue, Channi said, "Wait and watch which way the wind blows."

Speaking on the meeting, Punjab Congress MLA Pargat Singh said, "He is the General Secretary in charge of Punjab. He will assess the situation after holding discussions and will brief the party high command. Whatever decision is taken will be in the best interest of the party."

Talking to The Tribune, Rana Gurjit Singh said, "All the leaders who contested the last Assembly elections have come. We will put our point before Bhupesh Baghel."

Targeting the AAP government, Rana Gurjit questioned the timing of the raids at his business establishments, saying they coincided with the gathering of Congress MLAs at his residence to meet the Punjab affairs in-charge.

Till the filing of this report, nearly 45 leaders had arrived at the venue and were awaiting Baghel's arrival.
