Kiran Abbavaram and Sri Gouri Priya's latest romantic drama, Chennai Love Story, has started its theatrical journey on a strong note. The film's India gross collection stood at Rs 5.69 crore, while overseas markets contributed Rs 2.60 crore gross. This took the movie's worldwide gross collection to Rs 8.29 crore on its first day. The romantic drama was screened across 1,638 shows nationwide.

Occupancy figures also showed growing audience interest. The Telugu version recorded an overall occupancy of 43.05% on the opening day. Morning shows opened with 25.46% occupancy before gradually improving through the day. Night shows witnessed the biggest jump, recording an impressive 52.77% occupancy, indicating positive audience response after the initial screenings.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana emerged as the film's biggest markets, contributing Rs 5.15 crore gross on the first day. Karnataka added around Rs 50 lakh, while Tamil Nadu and other regions also contributed to the overall collections, helping the film register a healthy opening.
