Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Director General Praveer Ranjan and other top officials of CRPF and ITBP on Sunday reviewed the security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra at the Nunwan base camp, with a focus on anti-sabotage measures, area domination, crowd management, route security and preparedness to respond swiftly to any contingency.
During the visit, Ranjan inspected key operational locations, including check posts, communication centres, Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), Quick Action Teams (QATs), the CCTV control room and other critical security installations. He also interacted with deployed personnel, healthcare workers and women personnel, appreciating their dedication and professionalism. He stressed the need to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), continuous vigilance and seamless coordination among all security agencies throughout the pilgrimage.
The CISF DG also chaired a high-level security review meeting attended by senior officers of the CISF, CRPF, ITBP, J&K Police and the civil administration to assess the overall security architecture and operational preparedness. He expressed confidence that the security forces would continue to ensure the smooth, safe and incident-free conduct of the yatra.
The annual Amarnath Yatra began on July 3 and will conclude on August 28.
