CM Punk has received a new name on WWE SmackDown. The Voice of the Voiceless is currently enjoying his reign as the Undisputed WWE Champion and is set to defend the Title against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam.
One man who is not happy at all with these developments is Sami Zayn. After winning the WWE Championship for the first time in his career at Night of Champions, Zayn dropped the Title to a returning CM Punk on RAW just nine days later.
Originally, Zayn was supposed to defend the Championship against Rhodes on the night, but the American Nightmare was taken out by Gunther earlier in the show. This led to Nick Aldis announcing a surprise backup, which turned out to be Punk.
This week on SmackDown, the Underdog from the Underground cut another passionate promo backstage. He said when he finally won the WWE Championship, the powers that be didn't want him to hold the Title.
Sami Zayn mentioned he was forced to defend his Title against Rhodes, who was taken out, only to be replaced by Punk, and called him "corporate poster boy number two."
He soon confronted Adam Pearce, who announced that Zayn would be in a No.1 contender's match for the Undisputed Championship at SummerSlam.
While CM Punk is occupied with his commitments in WWE, he is open to showing up in the company's sister promotion AAA.
At San Diego Comic Con, he spoke with Ringside Collectibles and highlighted AAA's upcoming show in Chicago in September. He said it might be the perfect time for him to appear for the Lucha Libre promotion.
He even teased competing in a Hair vs. Mask match, saying he has worn a mask before and competed in the gimmick match and is open to running it back.
