India’s Commonwealth Games 2026 campaign will begin in Glasgow on July 23.

From India’s 126-athlete contingent, four will be taking part in 3x3 wheelchair basketball in this year’s edition of the competition.

This variation of basketball was introduced in CWG for the first time in the 2022 edition but India did not participate in it.

This time, the Indian women’s team qualified for the event through the 2025 International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) Asia-Oceania Championships held in Thailand.

The para-basketball event, which was introduced in the Commonwealth games for the first time in the 2022 edition, will last for ten minutes and will have three players on the field at a given time, while one player will be used as a substitute.
