AEW star Eddie Kingston has been a popular figure in professional wrestling. He is known among the fans for his stint with All Elite Wrestling over the past few years. With his incredible performance, The Mad King has become a former Continental Champion in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Today, Kingston is celebrating the sixth anniversary of his official AEW debut. On the July 22, 2020, episode of Dynamite, Cody Rhodes laid down an open challenge for his TNT Championship. The show was taking place at the famous Daily's Place; hence, fans were expecting a surprise. As The American Nightmare was done with his promo, a fresh face came out of the curtain.

It was none other than Eddie Kingston. That appearance marked The Mad King's first showing for AEW. He went on to challenge Rhodes in a "No Disqualification" match for the TNT Championship, but lost. Later on the preceding episode of Dynamite, it was announced that Kingston had signed an official contract with AEW.

With that, it was the beginning of an exciting career in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Kingston went on to have a feud with names like CM Punk, Jon Moxley, and Chris Jericho. Other than that, The Mad King had an incredible reign as the AEW Continental Champion from December 30, 2023, to March 20, 2024.

Eddie Kingston's last AEW match was on the February 4 episode of Collision. He teamed up with Ortiz & The Rascalz to take on Big Bill, Bryan Keith & Grizzled Young Veterans. The Mad King has not competed in any AEW match since then. Recently, he talked about his absence from the Jacksonville-based promotion.

During a recent wXw documentary, Kingston said that it is a part of business. The Mad King added that sometimes in wrestling a star is regularly on TV while at others he could miss years being out of action. Therefore, it all comes under the aspect of being involved in the wrestling business. As for his return, Eddie said that he would like to come back for another major run in AEW.

With that said, it will be interesting to see when Eddie Kingston will make his return to All Elite Wrestling from here on. He has been regularly competing in the independent wrestling scene for the past few months.
