The Kurukshetra police have arrested a couple for brutally thrashing a temple’s priest at Adhoni village. The victim, Baba Yogiraj Giri (74), hails from Uttarakhand.

As per the Kurukshetra police spokesperson, Paramjeet Singh, Sarpanch of Adhoni gram panchayat, on Thursday informed the police that Pankaj and his wife Manpreet had thrashed the priest of the village temple. A case was registered at the Sadar Thanesar police station.

Accused Pankaj’s house is situated opposite the temple and he has established a shrine dedicated to ‘Nakodar Peer’ at the rear of his house. He claims to be the ‘Sevadar’ of the ‘Peer’. Pankaj harboured a long-standing grudge against the temple priest and had previously threatened to kill him whenever he stepped out of the temple.
