India’s Ankush progressed to the quarterfinals of the men’s 80 kg bozing evemnt at the 2026 Commonwealth Games on Monday.
Ankush, who won the silver medal at the World Boxing Cup finals in 2025, defeated Antigua and Barbuda’s Zalaan Jan 5-0 by points to book his place in the last eight stage. Ankush won all three rounds, earning a perfect ten score from all five judges.
The Indian’s opponent in the quarterfinals is yet to be decided and if Ankush wins again, he will guarantee himself atleast a bronze medal.
