India’s aspirations for a medal in boxing will once again rest on the shoulders Jaismine Lamboria and Lovlina Borgohain at the Commonwealth Games 2026 starting on July 23.
Lamboria, who won the bronze medal last time out, will be part of a 14-member contingent that will be looking to improve on the seven medal haul in the 2022 edition over the next week and a half.
In the men’s field, all eyes will be on 26-year-old Sachin Sawich, who won the gold medal at the 2025 World Boxing Cup finals in the 60 kg category after making his mark with medals at the World Youth Championships and Commonwealth Youth Games.
The Boxing event will begin on July 24 and culminate on August 1.
