India’s Gurindervir Singh failed to qualify for the final of the men’s 100 metre sprint event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games on Monday.

Gurindervir finished second in Heat 4 with a time of 10.39 seconds behind Jamaica’s Rohan Watson who finished with a time 10.13 seconds.

However, his time was not good enough to finish in the top 17 across eleven heats to qualify for the semifinals.

His effort was well below his national record mark of 10.09 seconds he set at the Federation Cup in Ranchi in May.

This was Gurindervir’s first appearance at the Commonwealth Games, after missing the 2022 edition in Birmingham due to health reasons.
