n a contest between two boxers with similar attacking instincts, India’s Jadumani Singh outpunched Scotland’s Aaron Cullen to register a unanimous 5-0 victory in the men’s 55kg round of 32 boxing competition at the Commonwealth Games here on Friday.
Buoyed by strong home support at the Scottish Event Campus, Cullen put up a spirited fight across all three rounds.
However, Jadumani was consistently a step ahead, landing that extra punch and displaying sharper combinations and better deception against the Scot, who is an European u-23 championship silver medallist.

Cullen produced his best moments in the second round, moving smartly back and forth and finding gaps to land a few clean punches on the Indian. Jadumani was briefly caught off balance during the round, but quickly regained control and returned to his aggressive approach.
The fact that all five judges gave Jadumani a unanimous verdict (10-9) in all rounds proved the dominance of the 21-year-old Indian, who controlled the pace, tempo and direction of the bout with his accuracy, attacking intent and solid defensive skills.
