Glasgow 2026 marks a new chapter for the Commonwealth Games, with the Scottish city stepping in to host a streamlined edition after Victoria withdrew.
Featuring just 10 sports across four venues, the Games place an emphasis on sustainability, cost efficiency and an expanded Para sport programme, while retaining the competitive intensity.
For India, the Games represent another opportunity to reaffirm its status as one of the Commonwealth’s sporting powerhouses despite the reduced programme.

The Commonwealth Games 2026 will be available to live stream on the SonyLIV app. CWG 2026 will additionally be telecast live on Sony Sports Ten 2 and Sony Sports Ten 2 HD TV channels.
The Commonwealth Games will also be broadcast in local languages on Sony Sports Ten 3 (Hindi) and its corresponding HD channel, while Sony Sports Ten 4 will distribute the feed in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages.
