India won its second bronze medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games as Bindyarani Devi finished third in the final of the women’s 58 kg weightlifting event.
Her achievement increased India’s tally to six medals, including one gold, three silver, and two bronze medals. All of India’s medals so far have come from weightlifting and para-powerlifting. The medal haul could further increase on Tuesday with Ajaya Babu set to compete in men’s 79kg final.
India is currently eighth in the medals tally.
