Indian weightlifter Rishikanta Singh on Sunday lifted a combined weight of 264kg to win the silver medal in the men's 60kg category of weightlifting at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Although Rishikanta hardly broke a sweat while lifting 143kg off his first Clean and Jerk attempt, his subsequent two efforts at bettering the mark were foiled.

Malaysia's Bin Kasdan Mohamad Aniq, who had also equalled the snatch record off his final attempt, went on to win gold with records in Clean and Jerk and overall. Having lifted 152 kg in Clean and Jerk, his combined lift went up to 273kg.

Kenya’s Joshua Amunga Mboya won bronze with a 260kg total lift – 115 kg in Snatch and 145kg in Clean and Jerk
