Srihari Nataraj and India’s two para swimmers missed out on medals in their respective events at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow on Friday.
Srihari’s campaign in the men’s 50m backstroke ended in the semifinals after he finished seventh in his race with a time of 25.29 seconds. Swimming from lane eight, the Indian was one second behind South Africa’s Pieter Coetze, who won the semifinal in a Games record of 24.29 seconds.
England’s Oliver Morgan finished second in 24.65 seconds, followed by Australia’s Isaac Cooper in 24.85 and England’s Jack Skerry in 24.94, with the top four progressing to the final. Srihari finished ahead of Northern Ireland’s Patrick Johnston, who clocked 25.63 seconds.

In the men’s 100m freestyle S13 final, R.V.V.B.K. Budigina narrowly missed the podium after finishing joint-fourth in 57.57 seconds. He tied with Scotland’s James Clegg and was 0.71 seconds behind bronze medallist Matthew Redfern of England, who clocked 56.86.
India’s Ali Imam finished seventh with a time of 1:03.73.
South Africa’s Nathan Hendricks won the gold medal in 54.54 seconds, while Scotland’s Stephen Clegg took silver after recording 55.16. Redfern completed the podium for England.
