A blast has reportedly rocked the city of Limassol, with an emergency situation understood to be underway after a building in the city centre was targeted by some kind of 'explosive device'.
As per local press, authorities in Limassol remain on high alert following an explosion in the city centre at about 3.30am local time.
Initial reports previously stated that the building targeted may have been a nightclub. As per the Cyprus Times, the building houses EDON, the youth wing of Cypriot communist political party The Progressive Party of Working People.
It is understood the explosion has caused damage to the building's entrance, as well as to a vehicle parked nearby on Megalou Alexandrou Street. The scene has since been cordoned off by the police, as per reports, with an investigation now underway.
