WNBA star Sophie Cunningham surprised everyone with her appearance during UFC 329. She didn't just attend the event as a guest.

    Dana White laid out a special plan for the Indiana Fever star. UFC president and CEO Dana White named Cunningham as one of the ring girls during the main card fight between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway. In a post-fight press conference. He explained the reasoning behind this decision.

    Sophie Cunningham played for the Missouri Tigers during her collegiate career. The Phoenix Mercury drafted her with the No. 13 pick in 2019. She spent six seasons with them and averaged 7.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

    In January 2025, Cunningham was traded to the Fever as part of a four-team trade including the Connecticut Sun and the Dallas Wings. She is currently in her second year with the team, averaging 9.1 ppg, 2.4 rpg and 1.4 apg.

    Last month, Las Vegas Raiders rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza celebrated his graduation. The 2025 national champion completed his bachelor's degree in business administration and management from the University of California in May.

    Mendoza shared a few snippets from his graduation day on social media. Sophie Cunningham took notice of the rookie quarterback's achievement and liked the post on Instagram.

    Mendoza spent the first three years of his collegiate career with the California Golden Bears. In Dec. 2024, he decided to enter the transfer portal and join the Indiana Hoosiers.

    He was named the team's starting quarterback last season. Mendoza led the program to a historic run, finishing as the undefeated national champions. He was also honored as the 2025 Heisman winner, recording 3,535 yards and 41 TDs passing.

    The Raiders drafted Mendoza with the No. 1 pick in this year's draft. He is currently working on developing his game. He is expected to compete for the starting quarterback job alongside veteran Kirk Cousins
