Jhajjar witnessed a grim Tuesday as three tragic incidents unfolded across the district, leaving families devastated and residents in shock. A father and his two minor sons were found dead in a rented flat in Bahadurgarh, a migrant labourer was allegedly murdered and his body dumped in bushes, while the body of a missing polytechnic lecturer was recovered from a canal after a three-day search.

In the first incident, three members of a family, including a father and his two minor sons, were found dead inside a rented flat in Bahadurgarh. Police have launched an investigation, though the exact circumstances behind the deaths are yet to be established.

The deceased were identified as Sunil, a resident of Khudana village in Mahendragarh district, and his sons Mohit (8) and Rohit (6). Sunil worked as a driver besides dealing in the property business. His family lived in Hari Nagar in Bahadurgarh’s Line Par area.

According to reports, Sunil’s wife had gone to her parental home. He had reportedly returned to the flat on Monday after informing relatives that she was expected to return soon.

The incident came to light on Tuesday when one of Sunil’s relatives visited the flat after repeated calls to him went unanswered. The relative found Sunil hanging and the bodies of his two children inside a room.

It is suspected that the children were poisoned before Sunil died by suicide by hanging himself. No case had been registered till the filing of this report.

In another incident, a youth identified as Satpal, a native of Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, was allegedly beaten to death and his body dumped in bushes near Sarai Aurangabad village. His decomposed body was recovered on Tuesday. He had been missing since the night of July 11. Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder.

In the third incident, the body of missing polytechnic lecturer Vikas, a resident of Matanhail, was recovered from a canal near the Akehri Madanpur pump house.

Vikas had gone missing three days ago and his car was found abandoned near the JLN canal on Sunday, following which teams of the State Disaster Response Force, divers and the Irrigation Department launched a search operation.
