Accepting Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s request, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has approved halts for the Delhi-Kalka Express and the Delhi-Daulatpur Chowk Himachal Express at Adarsh Nagar railway station, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated on Saturday.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr. Vaishnaw wrote that both trains would now stop at Adarsh Nagar railway station, improving connectivity for passengers travelling to Himachal Pradesh and pilgrims visiting religious centres in Punjab.

Ms. Gupta noted that the new halts would benefit residents of north and west Delhi by reducing the need to travel to New Delhi or Old Delhi railway stations, thereby saving time and making journeys more convenient.

The Chief Minister mentioned that the Delhi-Kalka Express would benefit passengers travelling to Kurukshetra, Chandigarh and Kalka, besides tourists heading to Himachal Pradesh. The Delhi-Daulatpur Chowk Himachal Express, she added, would provide easier access for passengers and pilgrims travelling to Kurukshetra, Fatehgarh Sahib and Anandpur Sahib.
