Delhi Police have arrested two Lucknow University law students for allegedly disrupting proceedings inside the Supreme Court during a hearing last week.
The accused have been identified as Prabal Pratap Singh (24), a third-year law student, and Chander Bhan (23), a second-year student. Both were arrested in connection with an FIR registered at Tilak Marg Police Station.
According to Delhi Police, the FIR was registered on the complaint of a Supreme Court security staff member regarding an incident that took place on July 10 inside Court Number 13 during the hearing of Special Leave Petition (SLP) Number 31367/2026, Prabal Pratap & Another vs State of Uttar Pradesh through Commissioner.
Police said Prabal, who was appearing as a petitioner-in-person, allegedly disrupted the proceedings by using abusive and unparliamentary language, throwing papers inside the courtroom and creating disorder.
The complaint further alleged that when court staff attempted to maintain decorum and restrain him, he used force against the complainant, thereby obstructing the discharge of official duties.
Delhi Police said both accused have been arrested in connection with the case. Further investigation is under way.
